Our Approach

"Every great landscape job starts with the ground beneath it. Get the earthworks right, and everything you build on top of them holds together."

01

Levels set with instruments

Falls, depths and finished levels are set with proper levelling gear — not eyeballed. That's the difference between a slab that drains and a slab that ponds.

02

Right machine, right job

From a Dingo for tight backyard access to large excavators for acreage cut-and-fill — we use the right gear for the site, not whatever's sitting on the trailer.

03

Spoil handled in-house

We own our own hook bin truck and bins, so spoil and fill go and come on our schedule, not someone else's.

What we do

Earthworks we handle

From tight residential cut-outs to bulk acreage earthworks, we run the whole job in-house — machinery, operators, trucks and spoil disposal.

01

Site Clearing

Vegetation removal, stump grinding and rubbish removal — leaving a clean working platform for the build.

02

Cut & Fill

Levelling sloped blocks for slabs, lawns, pads or driveways. Spoil moved on or off site as required.

03

Pad Excavation

House slabs, shed slabs, machinery pads and outbuildings — excavated to depth and level, ready for forms.

04

Bulk Earthworks

Acreage levelling, dam earthworks, driveway construction and stockpile moves — large-scale spoil handling.

05

Drainage Trenching

Subsoil drains, surface drains, swales and stormwater — properly trenched, bedded and backfilled.

06

Services Trenching

Water, electrical, gas and comms — trenched to specification, sand-bedded, marker tape installed, properly backfilled.

07

Retaining Wall Cut-Outs

Excavation behind and beneath retaining walls — depth, batter and access prepped properly for the wall crew.

08

Pool & Pond Excavation

Pool digs, pond digs, dam digs — to engineer's spec, spoil handled on our trucks.

09

Large Animal Burial

Respectful, prompt machinery and excavation service for acreage clients dealing with the loss of large animals.

How we work

Clear steps. Clean site.

From the first site walk to the final pass with the rake.

1
Site Visit
Your project lead walks the site, assesses access, soil, services and spoil, talks through what you need.
2
Quote
Written quote — machinery, operators, trucks, spoil disposal and tip fees all itemised.
3
Setup & Levels
Set finished levels with instruments, mark out, services located, machinery positioned.
4
Excavate & Move
Cut, fill, level, trench and haul — done to spec, on schedule, on our own trucks.
5
Clean Finish
Site left clean, levels checked, ready for the next trade or for handover if the job ends here.
Why Elite Landscaping

Machinery and the people behind it

A lot of earthworks operators are good with a machine but treat your property like a job site. We treat acreage and residential properties like the homes they are — careful access, careful around services, careful around what stays.

Own machinery & haulage
Excavators, bobcats, hook bin truck and bins — no waiting on third-party hire to slow your job.
Services-aware
We dial-before-you-dig every job. We know where services are before the bucket goes in.
Slope & wet-ground safety
Steep and wet ground is where machinery goes wrong. We won't push through unsafe conditions — that's a hard rule for us.
Coordinated with the rest of the build
When excavation is part of a larger landscape job, we run them as one project — not two crews working past each other.

Every earthworks job is different

Volume, access, soil type, rock, disposal requirements and site conditions all affect the scope. That's why we don't put rough numbers on a webpage — we'd rather come out, look at the site properly, and give you a quote you can actually rely on.

Every quote we provide is detailed and transparent — machinery, disposal, access, staging and any known risks clearly set out so you know exactly what your excavation covers. No surprises mid-job.

Common questions

Things worth knowing

What machinery do you use?

+

We run excavators, skid steers, rollers and dumpers depending on the job. Machine selection depends on site access, soil type and volume of work. We'll confirm the right plant at your site visit.

What happens if you hit rock?

+

It happens on acreage in the Hills and Hawkesbury regions. We flag the risk upfront and discuss how we handle it — whether that's a rock hammer attachment, drill and blast referral, or adjusting scope. We don't just hit rock and surprise you with a variation.

Do you check for underground services before digging?

+

Always. A Dial Before You Dig enquiry is part of our standard process on every job. We won't put machinery in the ground without knowing what's below it.

Where does the spoil go?

+

We can cart it off-site on our own trucks to local tipping facilities, or redistribute on-site if there's a suitable area. We'll discuss the best option at your quote visit and include it in the scope clearly.

Can excavation be part of a broader landscape or building project?

+

Yes — most of our excavation work leads directly into retaining walls, paving, drainage or landscape construction. We can handle the full scope as one project and one team, which keeps the job moving efficiently.
